Yup, you read that title right, in the age of smart everything it’s no surprise that there is finally a “smart” beer fridge. In fact, it’s not even the first smart fridge on the market. The Drinkshift, made by Tokyo-based Shiftall Inc, has the technology to order you more beer when you start to run low.

Each of the 13 slots in the mini fridge has a sensor attached to it that keeps track of your beer consumption. Once the fridge gets to a “dangerously” low amount it will order you enough beers to top your fridge back up to 13. Which will automatically arrive on your doorstep with a couple of days.

The fridge is set to be released at the Consumers Electronic Show in Las Vegas this weekend, but there is no price for the unit, or how the replacement beer system works. Also their website doesn’t have a date when it will be on sale to the public, it just says “Scheduled to start service in 2019”.

All things considered though, the technology looks pretty promising, and with beers being automatically being delivered to your door, it makes you think…It’s a pretty good time to be a beer drinker!
