Some people would say that this designer’s pieces are explosive, or that they are “the bomb”, but not me, I’m a professional journalist with a little more integrity than that, although they do really light up a room!

Estonian sculptor Mati Karmin turns old bombs, specifically Russian AGSB-type sea mines, and turns them into pieces of furniture you can actually use. He hunts the mines down on his own terms, finding them usually washed up on shore of Naissaar, an island located in the Gulf of Finland. Some of of which were then turned into chairs, fireplaces, bath tuns, and even the creepiest looking baby pram you’ll ever see!
